Samuel Santos

CERENA-IST

.

Samuel Santos was awarded a BSc from ISEL - Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa, Lisbon Polytechnic in Chemical Engineering in February 2011. He was also awarded a MSc, again from ISEL in Chemical Engineering, in December 2013, with a research studying the use of amine solutions for absorption/desorption of CO2 from flue gases. His master´s thesis originated a scientific article and a book. From 2013 to 2015, Samuel Santos has participated in an EU project called ACoPP (Advanced Near Zero Emission Coal-Fired Power Plant). Then, he was part of the research team, as a Research Fellow, in a PROMAR project entitled ECOFOULESS – Anti-fouling compounds for the control of biofouling in Aquaculture, from 2015 to 2016. Afterwards, he was part of the GREENFUEL project until January 2017. Currently, he is working on his PhD thesis in chemical Engineering entitled “PILOT STUDY ON CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF 1st GENERATION BIODIESEL USING HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSTS”, in CERENA, Instituto Superior Técnico, in a CATSUS Doctoral Program, under the supervision of Prof. João Gomes, Prof. Jaime Puna, Prof. Rosa Quinta-Ferreira (FCT-Universidade de Coimbra) and Prof. João Bordado.
