Marta Ramos Andrés has a BSc and MSc degree in chemical engineering, and a PhD degree in chemical and environmental engineering from the University of Valladolid, Spain (Cum Laude, 2022). Her PhD thesis deals with the development of a pilot-scale biorefinery of agri-food waste biomass oriented to the production of bio-based products. During 2020 she worked as a visiting researcher (six months) at Åbo Akademi University in Turku, Finland. During the last part of her PhD thesis (2021-2022), she started to work as a researcher at CARTIF foundation, collaborating in four European projects and being PI of one industrial project. In 2023, she joined Centro de Recursos Naturais e Ambiente as a postdoctoral researcher in the Chemical Engineering Department, Instituto Superior Tecnico (University of Lisbon). Her current research focuses on the development of bio-derived carbon fibers from lignin by applying free and controlled radical polymerization (BioCFiber project).
