Completed his Integrated Masters’ degree in Chemical Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 2008. Has more than 10 years of field experience in the industrial sector, particularly in the area of cement production, having worked as quality control manager of alternative fuels supplied to cement plants and as a process engineer, cement grinding manager and production planning manager at SECIL-Outão cement plant. He recently collaborated with the Center for Rapid and Sustainable Product Development (CDRSP, from the Polytechnic of Leiria) as a Research Fellow in the fields of Chemical and Materials Engineering, with a special focus on inorganic materials’ development for additive manufacturing and 3D printing applications. He is currently starting his Ph.D. studies in Materials Engineering, at CERENA and CDRSP, under the topic “Advanced geopolymer cement formulations for extrusion-based 3D printing in construction”.
