Eduardo Barrela is former member of CERENA and an R&D Reservoir Engineer at TotalEnergies, where he develops and industrializes advanced methodologies for ensemble-based 4D history matching and production forecasting on company assets. Before joining TotalEnergies as a sponsored PhD researcher, he began his research career at CERENA (2016–2018, 2019), focusing on history matching and uncertainty quantification. He holds a PhD in Reservoir Engineering from INP Toulouse, an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, and an MSc in Civil Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Eduardo has contributed to academic and industrial projects worldwide, delivering innovative solutions to challenges in production history matching, forecasting, and reservoir modeling, including patented methodologies now moving toward industrial application. His current work focuses on developing and deploying innovative reservoir engineering methodologies and practices, tailored to the needs of the company and its affiliates, ensuring practical impact on ongoing projects.
