INPACTUS - LWood

The exploitation of Eucalyptus globulus plantations and subsequent processing on paper leads to the production of secondary products that can be used as biomasses for a liquefaction conversion process that will lead to their appreciation from the point of view more attractive energy.

INPACTUS - ASA

For printing and writing paper production, hydrophobicity is one of the critical requirements. Depending on the printing technology and the end use of the paper, the needs of the bonding process vary by changing appearance characteristics (whiteness, smoothness, and stiffness) and printing efficiency.

ALFAGREEN - All For A Green Future: Biorefining the Energreen liquefied, development of new related products and up-grade of the pilot plant for this purpose

The AlfaGreen project has an implementation period from 1 April 2016 to 30 September 2018 with a budget allocation of 1,000,272.73. SECIL and CERENA-IST are the two entities that integrate this project, which has as a physical and conceptual basis the construction of a biorefinery from the ENERGREEN pilot plant, previously built for the production of advanced liquid biofuel from biomass / wastes for subsequent use in the energy supply of cement kilns.

RENEFUEL

This project comprises the construction, test and optimized set-up of a system capable of generating fuel from renewable energy sources obtained from alkaline electrolysis of water using graphite electrodes without a membrane separating the generated gases.

INOVSTONE 4.0

Inovstone 4.0 -  Tecnologias Avançadas e Software para a Pedra Natural is a Mobilizing Project of the Plano de Ação do Cluster dos Recursos Minerais. This project arises from the need to highlight the dynamic capacity of the Ornamental Rocks Sector (RO) and, at the same time, to reinforce its competitiveness in relation to the new digital procurement model, namely in the context of Building Information Model (BIM).
The four structuring axes of this project are:
1. Convergence with BIM's overall enforcement objectives in AEC;

Nanoporous materials as multiple therapeutic agents

Although nitric oxide (NO) is very toxic in low concentrations it plays a key role in the regulation of several biological systems of the human body. Solid carriers have potential biomedical interest in the delivery of exogenous NO for anti-bacterial, anti-thrombic and wound healing applications. In this research line, we prepare and modify nanoporous materials with the main goal of studying its potential in the field of storage and release of nitric oxide for therapeutic applications.

POLYCER

Project POLYCER:  Exopolysaccharide application on industrial ceramic powders used in unidirectional dry pressing process for performance optimization

FAME - Flexible and Mobile Economic Processing Technologies

FAME is an active Research and Innovation project to develop economically viable, flexible and mobile combinations of technology to exploit European ore deposits that are often relatively small in tonnage terms.  This project specifically addresses three different primary ore types: skarn, greisen and pegmatite.  These ores carry significant potential for the extraction of Critical Raw Materials.  Although these ore types are complex mineralogically and have variable metal grades they are of great strategic significance in relation t
