As part of the European Talent Pass project, several secondment activities took place in June 2026, reinforcing the project’s mission to promote brain circulation, knowledge transfer, and institutional cooperation across Europe.
Joana Barrelas completed a secondment at the National Institute of Chemistry (NIC) in Slovenia. During her stay, Joana strengthened her competencies in European research and innovation project development, consortium building, stakeholder engagement, and research management. Her secondment helped expand contacts with NIC researchers, and identify new collaboration opportunities between CERENA and NIC.
Abeer Mohtar did a 1-month secondment at CHIMCOMPLEX in Romania. This mobility contributed to the development of new research and innovation skills, and the promotion of future collaborations between CERENA and CHIMCOMPLEX.
IST-ID also welcomed two administrative secondees from the “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Romanian Academy, Daniel Condrea and Andreea Hulub, for a two-week internship in Portugal. Their visit promoted the exchange of good practices in research support, project management, and institutional procedures.
Together, these secondments highlight the role of Talent Pass in strengthening cooperation between research institutions, supporting professional development and creating new opportunities for collaboration in European research and innovation.
