The Loures Campus is preparing to open the new laboratory for the ´DAEDALUS` project, a research initiative of excellence funded by a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant and led by Ricardo Araújo, professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and a researcher at the CERENA-Centro de Recursos Naturais e Ambiente.
The project is dedicated to unravelling one of evolution’s great mysteries: the origin of the dinosaur–bird relationship and endothermy, seeking to understand when and how the ability to maintain a stable body temperature emerged throughout the evolutionary lineage.
The new facility at Loures Campus strengthens the commitment to cutting-edge research and to creating the conditions for the development of science with a high international impact, bringing fundamental research closer to the scientific community and society.
The inauguration programme will include a presentation of the project by the principal investigator, Ricardo Araújo, in the CTN auditorium, followed by a visit to the laboratory, located next to the animal facility. The event will conclude with a very special social gathering: a ´Snackasaurus` in the green spaces of our Campus.
